These Spicy Cajun Scallops with Cream Sauce are a mouthwatering blend of tender, seared scallops covered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun sauce. Perfect for an impressive yet easy weeknight dinner or a special occasion meal. Ready in just 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Scallops:

  • 1 lb sea scallops (1216 scallops)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

For the Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Add heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.

  • Return scallops to the skillet and spoon sauce over them. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a milder dish, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper.

  • Use a cast-iron skillet for best results when searing the scallops.

  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
