Salt and pepper (to taste)
For the Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce:
-
1 tbsp unsalted butter
-
2 cloves garlic (minced)
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
-
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-
Salt and pepper (to taste)
-
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
-
Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
-
Add heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
-
Return scallops to the skillet and spoon sauce over them. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
-
For a milder dish, reduce or omit the cayenne pepper.
-
Use a cast-iron skillet for best results when searing the scallops.
-
Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
