Description

These slow cooker street tacos are juicy, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. Slow-cooked beef is shredded and served in warm tortillas with fresh toppings for an authentic street taco experience.

  • For the Beef:

    • 23 lbs beef chuck roast
    • 1 tbsp kosher salt
    • 1 tbsp chili powder
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp oregano
    • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
    • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • ½ cup beef broth
  • For Serving:

    • Small corn tortillas
    • Diced white onion
    • Fresh cilantro
    • Crumbled cotija cheese (optional)
    • Lime wedges
    • Salsa or hot sauce

Instructions

  • Pat the beef chuck roast dry and season it with salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and oregano.
  • Place the beef in the slow cooker. Pour in lime juice, orange juice, beef broth, and olive oil.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours until the beef is tender.
  • Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  • Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker to absorb the flavorful juices.
  • (Optional) For crispy beef, sear it in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes.
  • Warm the tortillas on a dry skillet or open flame.
  • Assemble the tacos by adding shredded beef, diced onions, cilantro, cotija cheese, and a squeeze of lime.
  • Serve immediately with salsa or hot sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef with the seasonings overnight before slow cooking.
  • You can substitute beef chuck roast with brisket or flank steak.
