This Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread is the ultimate comfort food, featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, sautéed vegetables, and gooey melted provolone on crispy French bread. It’s a quick and easy recipe perfect for game nights, parties, or a satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp kosher salt, divided
  • ¼ tsp black pepper, divided
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 4 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Sear the steak: Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper, cook for 2 minutes without stirring, then add Worcestershire sauce and mix. Remove from heat.
  • Sauté vegetables: Melt butter in the same pan. Cook onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until soft.
  • Prepare bread: Slice the French bread lengthwise, spread mayonnaise evenly, and layer half of the provolone slices.
  • Assemble: Add the cooked steak and sautéed vegetables on top, then cover with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Slice & Serve: Let cool slightly, then cut into portions and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, lightly toast the bread before adding toppings.
  • Substitute provolone with mozzarella or cheddar for a different flavor.
  • Use an air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to reheat leftovers while keeping them crispy.
