- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- ¼ cup white wine (or vegetable broth as a substitute)
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1⅓ cups Gouda cheese, diced
- Bread, crackers, or vegetables (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Deglaze the skillet with white wine, letting it simmer until absorbed.
- Add heavy cream, followed by Gouda cheese. Stir gently.
- Bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes, stirring halfway through, until melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately with bread, crackers, or veggies for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the fondue for 1-2 minutes before serving.
- If the fondue thickens too much, add a splash of cream or broth while reheating.
