Description

These M&M Cookie Bars are soft, chewy, and loaded with colorful M&Ms. With a buttery, rich flavor and irresistible chocolatey goodness in every bite, they’re perfect for parties, family gatherings, or whenever you’re craving something sweet and satisfying.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (7.4 oz)

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup M&Ms (pastel or regular)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch pan or line with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.

  • Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.

  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.

  • Fold in M&Ms or sprinkle them on top halfway through baking.

  • Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan.

  • Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  • Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake by removing them from the oven 2 minutes early.

  • To make them festive, use themed M&Ms or add chocolate chips for extra richness.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
