Ingredients

Scale

Cake:

  • 1 lamb cake, baked and cooled (from scratch or using Simple Mills vanilla cake mix – double batch if using the recommended mold)

Frosting & Decorations:

  • 2 cans Simple Mills vanilla frosting (or homemade vanilla frosting)

  • 1415 large vanilla marshmallows (cut in half for wool effect)

  • 1 small vanilla marshmallow (shaped for ears)

  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (for added texture)

  • 2 peach rings (pinched into oval shapes for ears)

  • 1 jelly bean (for the nose)

  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate (melted for face details)

  • Yellow ribbon (optional, for decoration)

  • Green paper grass (optional, for serving plate decoration)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the lamb-shaped mold thoroughly.

    • Prepare cake batter according to instructions on the Simple Mills cake mix or your preferred vanilla cake recipe.

    • Pour batter into the mold and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

    • Allow the cake to cool in the mold for 15 minutes before carefully transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Prepare Decorations:

    • Cut large marshmallows in half.

    • Shape the small marshmallow for the lamb’s ears.

    • Pinch peach rings into oval shapes.

    • Melt dark chocolate and transfer it to a piping bag.

  • Decorate the Cake:

    • Frost the entire cake with a thick layer of vanilla frosting.

    • Arrange halved marshmallows on the head and body for wool texture.

    • Sprinkle shredded coconut over the body.

    • Attach peach rings for ears and a jelly bean for the nose using frosting as glue.

    • Pipe chocolate eyes and mouth.

    • Optionally, tie a yellow ribbon around the lamb’s neck and decorate the plate with green paper grass.

Notes

  • To prevent the cake from sticking, grease and flour the mold thoroughly.

  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before frosting and decorating.

  • If you prefer a chocolate lamb cake, simply use chocolate cake mix instead of vanilla.
