Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)


Instructions

  • Pat chicken dry. Pound to even thickness if needed.

  • Drizzle chicken with olive oil and rub with salt, paprika, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  • Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat (400°F).

  • Grill or sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until internal temp reaches 165°F.

  • In the last 2–3 minutes, brush both sides with BBQ sauce.

  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving with extra sauce.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs are juicier and great for grilling.

  • Use a meat thermometer to prevent overcooking.

  • Add a pinch of cayenne for heat.
