Ingredients

Scale

For the Fried Chicken:

  • 1 ½ to 2 lbs chicken tenders
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 large egg + 2 tablespoons water (beaten)
  • Vegetable or canola oil (for frying)

For the Buttermilk Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup (1 stick) cold butter (cubed or grated)
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (for brushing)

For the Hot Honey:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fried Chicken: Heat oil to 365°F. Coat chicken in seasoned flour, dip in egg wash, then coat again. Fry until golden brown.
  • Make the Biscuits: Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter, and add buttermilk. Roll, fold, cut, and bake at 450°F for 15-17 minutes.
  • Prepare the Hot Honey: Heat honey with red pepper flakes, stir in apple cider vinegar, and let cool.
  • Assemble the Biscuits: Slice biscuits, add fried chicken, drizzle with hot honey, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Keep the butter cold for flaky biscuits.
  • Double-coating the chicken ensures a crispy texture.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
