- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
For the Cinnamon Filling:
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the Dough: Add egg, yolk, and melted butter. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead & Rise: Knead for 5-7 minutes, place in a greased bowl, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Prepare the Filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter, then sprinkle the sugar mixture.
- Roll & Slice: Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 even pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Make the Frosting: Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost & Serve: Spread frosting over warm rolls and enjoy!
