Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Food coloring (pastel colors)

For Decorating:

  • Sprinkles or sanding sugar
  • Melted white or milk chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Whisk together dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
  • Divide dough and color each portion with food coloring.
  • Fill a cookie press with dough and press shapes directly onto the baking sheet.
  • Add sprinkles before baking if desired.
  • Bake for 6-8 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool completely before decorating with melted chocolate.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for vibrant colors without altering the dough consistency.
  • If dough becomes too soft, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before pressing.
