  • 1 jar of dill pickle slices (about 2 cups)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal or panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable, peanut, or canola)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pickles: Drain and pat the pickles dry with paper towels.
  • Set Up Breading Stations: Whisk together eggs and milk in one bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, and seasonings.
  • Coat the Pickles: Dip each pickle slice into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture for a double coating.
  • Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan, heat oil to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry the Pickles: Add pickles in small batches and fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Drain & Serve: Place on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot with ranch or spicy mayo.
