Ingredients

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed

  • ⅔ cup milk

  • 3 medium Gala apples, peeled, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
    Pudding Sauce:

  • ¾ cup orange juice

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon


Instructions

  • Slice apples and toss with cinnamon, brown sugar or honey, and melted butter.

  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk to make a thick batter.

  • Grease slow cooker. Spread batter evenly, top with apple mixture.

  • In a bowl, mix pudding sauce ingredients and pour over apples.

  • Cover with a towel under the lid to catch condensation.

  • Cook on high for 2–3 hours or low for 3–4 hours.

  • Let rest 15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Use baking apples like Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp for best texture.

  • Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to enhance the flavor.

  • Don’t skip the towel under the lid—it keeps the top from getting soggy!
