Description
A restaurant-style Crispy Chilli Beef recipe that’s sweet, spicy, crispy, and coated in a delicious sticky sauce. Perfect for a quick dinner!

For the Beef:
- 1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
For the Stir-Fry:
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- ½ green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red chili, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Toss the beef with cornstarch and salt until coated.
- Fry the Beef: Heat oil in a pan and fry the beef in batches for 3-4 minutes until crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel.
- Make the Sauce: Mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Make a cornstarch slurry separately.
- Stir-Fry: Sauté garlic, bell peppers, and chili for 2 minutes. Add the sauce and simmer. Stir in the slurry and cook until thick.
- Coat the Beef: Toss the crispy beef in the sauce until fully coated.
- Serve: Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy with rice or noodles!
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double-fry the beef.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
