- 12 oz rigatoni pasta
- 1 lb Italian turkey sausage (casings removed)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half & half)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook rigatoni until al dente, reserving ½ cup pasta water. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat, breaking it up until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add butter and garlic, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in tomato sauce, heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Toss cooked rigatoni in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan.
