Description

  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 lb Italian turkey sausage (casings removed)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half & half)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook rigatoni until al dente, reserving ½ cup pasta water. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat, breaking it up until browned. Drain excess grease.
  • Add butter and garlic, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, heavy cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Toss cooked rigatoni in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and extra Parmesan.

  • Use spicy sausage for extra heat.
  • Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for more veggies.
