  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  • Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Lower heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Return the shrimp to the pan, stir to coat, and add lemon juice.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra richness, use freshly grated Parmesan instead of pre-packaged cheese.
  • Adjust spice levels by increasing or omitting red pepper flakes.
  • To make it low-carb, serve over sautéed vegetables instead of pasta or rice.
