For the Cobbler:

  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¾ cup whole milk

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups granulated sugar

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2¼ tsp baking powder

  • ¾ tsp salt

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1½ cups packed brown sugar

  • 1½ cups hot water

For the Topping:

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch pan.

  • In a bowl, whisk milk, vanilla, and sugar. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until smooth.

  • Spoon batter over the butter—do not stir.

  • Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Gently pour hot water over all—do not stir.

  • Bake 30–35 minutes or until golden and set.

  • Mix topping sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over hot cobbler.

  • Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • For best results, don’t stir the layers.

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
