Description

This Chicken and Waffles recipe delivers perfectly crispy chicken, fluffy waffles, and a sweet-spicy honey butter sauce. A comfort food favorite for brunch or dinner!

Fried Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs/breasts

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 0.5 cups cornstarch

  • Oil for frying (vegetable/canola)

Waffles:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 large eggs, 1 3/4 cups milk, 1/3 cup melted butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Spicy Honey Butter Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup honey (or maple syrup)

  • 4 tbsp melted butter

  • 12 tsp hot sauce

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  • Marinate Chicken: Mix buttermilk, spices. Marinate chicken 30 minutes to overnight.

  • Coat & Fry Chicken: Dredge in flour-cornstarch mixture. Fry at 350°F for 5–7 minutes per side.

  • Make Waffles: Combine dry & wet ingredients. Cook in waffle iron until golden.

  • Spicy Honey Butter Sauce: Mix honey, butter, hot sauce, cayenne.

  • Serve: Top waffles with chicken, drizzle with sauce.

  • Double-coat chicken for extra crunch.

  • Adjust spice level to taste.
