- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup beef broth (or water)
- ¼ cup milk (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add onions and garlic, cooking until soft. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Layer the casserole: Spread beef mixture in the baking dish. Arrange potato slices on top, then season lightly.
- Add cheese and moisture: Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes. Pour beef broth around the edges. Add milk for extra creaminess.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden.
- Rest for 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot!
