Description

A quick and easy buttered cod recipe featuring flaky, tender fish cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce with lemon. Perfect for a light yet satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cod fillets
  • 3 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (or fresh for garnish)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Pat the cod dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sear cod for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and flaky. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in lemon juice and parsley to make a flavorful butter sauce.
  • Return cod to the pan and spoon the sauce over the fillets.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly dredge cod in flour before cooking.
  • Swap cod for halibut or tilapia for a variation.
