These air fryer sesame cauliflower wings are a crispy, flavorful alternative to traditional wings. Coated in a crunchy breading and tossed in a savory-sweet sesame glaze, they’re the perfect plant-based appetizer or snack.

- 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free)
- ⅔ cup non-dairy milk
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs (regular or gluten-free)
For the Sesame Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons water or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (optional for spice)
- 1–2 teaspoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 teaspoon water (for thickening)
- Sesame seeds & chopped scallions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, non-dairy milk, garlic powder, and salt.
- Dip cauliflower florets in the batter, then coat them in breadcrumbs.
- Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 10-13 minutes, shaking halfway, until crispy.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan, then sauté garlic and ginger. Add soy sauce, honey, water, sesame oil, vinegar, gochujang, and sriracha. Simmer for 2 minutes.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
- Toss crispy cauliflower in the sauce, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions, and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs.
- Adjust spice levels by adding or omitting gochujang and sriracha.
- Serve with rice or noodles for a full meal.
